Tradition 2012
2011 was an unbelievably exciting year. You may remember Chris, our son, graduated from College and then married in May 2011 in Nokomis, Florida with all our family and friends. After active marina season, Jeni, our daughter, was married in October with the reception at Sequoyah Marina. What a fantastic event! Wow, what a memorable year! I have to admit that I had a very blessed event happen to myself this year. My grandfather of 93, who we have spent Christmas Eve and Day the last few years, had an operation which brought great concern to all of us. I left a few days early to spend time and prepare him for the operation. The operation was a great success. The visiting nurse was greatly surprised of how well he was progressing. Yes, he is still living with his 102 year old girl friend too. KJ flew in the day before Xmas Eve and we again enjoyed both Xmas eve and Xmas Dinner at the grandparent’s favorite restaurant. We left Monday to enjoy the west side of the Florida. Once our new son-in-law and daughter arrived, we headed back to my grandfather’s for him to meet our newest family member. My grandfather commented that he felt like a boy on xmas morning waiting for us to arrive. Our new son in-law is a builder who is very talented and very similar to my grandfather who loved to build. He was retired pattern maker who worked for GM for 35 years. After a great visit and meal we headed back to the west side of Florida to enjoy great weather, cards, conversation, biking, riding scooters, sitting in the sun, reading books and eating at great restaurants. We missed Chris and Brittany but stayed in touch with them through the holiday. We hope that this time spent together on the beach will always be remembered and continued! We hope everyone set their New Year’s resolutions to stay close to family and friends. We pray that everyone pays close attention to their health and always pay it forward! Everything always returns full circle. So smile, say hello, give a hug, lend a helping hand, pray for our troops, be thankful for friends, and enjoy each and every day. Happy New Year!
